Eliot's The Waste Land and Ash Wednesday .The study is divided into four chapters in addition to a conclusion. Chapter One is an introduction which provides a general background of modern age, its rampant materialism and spiritual bankruptcy which has eventually created a sense of emptiness and barrenness in modern life. Chapter Two traces the formative influence of Eliot that made him a great poet of the modern age, who has depicted these problems through his poems. Chapter Three is devoted to the study Eliot's The Waste land, its form and content. In this poem, form and content go together reduced to its simplest terms. Chapter Four examines the form and content in Eliot's Ash Wednesday. In this poem, form and content is also go together. The poem marks the beginning of a new phase in the poet's development. The form of this poem consists of obscure images and symbols which make the poem difficult. The poem compelled him to contemplate another vision.
