Fitzgerald's idea of symbolism. First, it gives a general a historical and critical background of symbolism. Secondly, it gives a brief commentary on Fitzgerald's idea of symbolism. Chapter Four : examines symbolism in The Great Gatsby. Finally, the study ends with conclusion that Fitzgerald's style is richly symbol.
